Katie's Modern Rugs‘ designer has a background as an award winning graphic artist. Vivid color, as seen in her artistic rugs, has been a dominant element in much of Katie's work. Rugs are an outgrowth of Katie's color exploration, love of texture (textiles / materials) and passion for striking and well-functioning interior design. International business work has also contributed to facility in working with her mill, located in Asia.

Granddaughter of innovative industrial designer, Norman Bel Geddes, interesting design may be in her genes. Katie is a native New Yorker from Manhattan.
